那裡 這裡 Here There ( 1997 - 2022 )

不是這裡,就是那裡  / 張照堂

 

這個世界說大很大,說小也很小。我們的生命、我們的思緒、我們的眼界不也如此?大家尋尋覓覓的方向與結果,不是這裡,就是那裡。

 

這裡是現在,那裡也許是過去或未來。這裡是現實,那裡可能是想像或虛幻。反過來來說,這裡也許是過去,是虛幻,那裡才是現在,未來遺失了也說不定。到底,這裡、那裡是一線之隔,抑或咫尺天涯?攝影家在這條隙縫中找到著力的題材與方向。

 

曾敏雄是從「肖像」與「風景」的主題出發的,他的「台灣頭」系列適時捕捉了人物的肢體姿顏與精神樣貌,那快門閃爍的剎那,抑或炯炯有神,抑或暗鬱神傷,這些重塑的歲月容顏總為我們刻畫下深邃的時代疤記。他的「風景安靜」系列則細膩、敏慧地呈現了大地景物的線條、光影與質感,彷彿它們在身分轉換後,找到另一種生命。這些「風景」與「肖像」,透過曾敏雄的鏡頭,其實各自表述了一種鮮活的存在宣告。

 

「那裡·這裡」專輯系列中,曾敏雄則試圖擺脫過去在「肖像」與「風景」中的紀實氛圍,另覓現實中的意外與異象。中規中舉的寫實精神與技法,容或必要,但見多了畢竟乏味,走過一個階段的攝影家,總嘗試去發現另一種看見的生趣。我們的世界有太多荒謬與弔詭的現象存在、發生着,而這些迷疑、難解、奇異的影像,在現實、非現實、超現實中迂迴、穿梭的人間幻象,莫非是我們潛意識中的心靈世界嗎?

 

曾敏雄是一個好學、認真又用心的攝影勞動者,拍照與教學是他生活的全部。他勤於耕耘,在攝影園地中播種各式不同的生養題材,短短七年中,曾敏雄已經出版十本攝影專輯。「那裡·這裡」是他近年來努力另闢他逕的足跡。這些無法言說的情境斷片,這裡、那裡的殘跡或隱喻,都提供大家更多的尋找路徑與想像空間。對一個影像工作者或觀賞者來說,這些就是動人的探險與啓迪。

 

 

Either Here, Or There / Chang Chao-Tang


This world could be big or small, depending on how you look at it. Is it not the same with our lives, our thoughts and our perspectives? The direction and outcome that everyone seek is either here or there.

The present is here, and the past or future may be there. It could be reality here, as it could be imagination or illusion there. On the other hand, perhaps it could be past and illusion here, present over there, and the future is lost. Is here and there separated by a thin line or skyline after all? The photographers find their own themes and directions to focus on in between the gap.

Miin-Shyong Tseng focuses on the themes of “portrait” and “scenery”. His photography series “Face's Talk” captures the posture, appearance and spirit of people at given moments. Regardless of bright or depressing, these facial expressions reshape and characterize the deep scars in generations the moment the shutter flashes. His series of “Voice Inside” present the lines, lights and quality of earth scenery exquisitely and cleverly, as if they found other lives through the conversion of identity. Each and every photograph of “scenery” and “portrait” expresses its declaration of a lively existence through the camera lens of Miin-Shyong Tseng's.

In the series of〝Here, There”, Miin-Shyong Tseng tries to free himself from the documentary atmosphere of his past “portrait” and “scenery” works and seeks other surprises and visions in reality. The fair and impartial documentary spirit and technique seems to be essential, yet it gets tedious after being seen regularly. A photographer who is transforming from one stage to another would try to explore other types of joy in life. There are too many absurdity and paradoxical phenomenon in our world. Could these bewildered misbeliefs, obscurities and bizarre images be the spiritual world in our subconscious which are illusions traveling among reality, unreality, and surreality?

Miin-Shyong Tseng is a studious, earnest, and attentive photographer to the extent that photo-shooting and teaching is all he has in his life. He works hard and finds different types of topics in photography.  Within 7 years, he has already published ten photo albums. 〝Here, There” records his footprints in other dimensions of explorations. The unspeakable scenaric fragments, residues or metaphors in "Here, There" give everyone more dimensions and imaginary space. This is the adventure and inspiration that touches artists and viewers.
